Customer Credit

The customer credit is a way to apply a refund to a customer's account, allowing the box office to apply the credit at their discretion to pay for transactions in TixPro 8. The credit is saved to the customer account. So in order to use it the customer needs to be attached to a sale and the credit will be easily found at the top of their customer record.

Setup is easy and should only take a few moments!

In TixPro 8 click on File-Payment Methods

To add the Customer Credit payment type click Add New Payment Method

Set your Payment Method to Customer Credit and the Payment Method Type to Regular.

Do not change any other field.

Then click Create



Customer Credit will appear as an alternative to refunding during the seat exchange or change process. If you have an amount that is "owed" to the customer then Customer Credit will show as an option.

For example: Let's say that a patron calls and says that they don't need to use 1 ticket for an upcoming performance. Your organization doesn't offer refunds and they would like to apply that ticket to a future sale.

You can edit the sale by following these directions- Sales Record - Exchanges

When you get to the finalize screen you will see the Add as Credit button. Clicking that button will add the credit to the customer's account.

On the payment tab the customer credit will show as a payment entry to balance the sale.



When you attach a customer to a sale duing the sale process you will see the available credit on the customer's account at the top of their record.

During payment the customer credit shows as an option above the payment type area.

Simply check the box to reduce the amount due by the amount of the credit.

Then simply pick your payment type and finish the sale as normal!
